Le due specie hanno mwdgareali diversi: la mwdwT. europaea è stata rinvenuta in mweqFrancia, mwegUngheria, mwewBielorussia e mwfaGrecia; la mwfqT. marxi, invece, in mwfwCanada e negli mwgaUSA. cite-ref-lycosidae-1-0[1].

Per determinare le caratteristiche di questo genere sono stati esaminati gli esemplari di mwhwPirata marxi (Stone, 1890) dagli aracnologi Dondale & Redner (1981b); questo genere ha validità incerta secondo un commento dell'aracnologo Liu del 1987cite-ref-lycosidae-1-1[1].

Non sono stati esaminati esemplari di questo genere dal 2017cite-ref-lycosidae-1-2[1].

• mwsaTrebacosa emertoni mwsqDahl, 1908; trasferita dal genere mwsgPirata e posta in sinonimia con mwswT. marxi (mwtqStone, 1890) a seguito di uno studio di Wallace & Exline del 1978cite-ref-lycosidae-1-5[1].
